"Fine & Raw" Super Food
I seem to have a love/hate relationship with chocolate. I grew up eating it. Lots of it. Milk chocolate, dark chocolate, Junior Mints, Snickers, Rolos, triple chocolate ice cream. . .you get the idea.
Never had a problem with my skin. I rarely had pimples as a teenager and certainly never noticed a connection to this most recent "super food". However, as I've been peeling back the layers of this illness the past few years my body has begun screaming at me whenever I do something to it that it doesn't like - such as eat too much chocolate! This particular warning sign comes in the form of pimples.
So, when I do choose to indulge I make sure to partake in only the cleanest, most natural chocolate I can find. That means no high fructose corn syrup, no GMOs, no growth hormones, no partially hydrogenated oils, and no artificial colors or flavors. I even take it a step further and avoid milk and soy. Why negate the great antioxidant benefits by ingesting all the toxic junk along with it? You can read more about these hidden toxins on one of my favorite blogs.
I've found several great chocolate brands from small artisanal companies, but today I wanted to share with you a recent favorite - Fine & Raw.
